Apparently this is one of the great American novels, according to the blurb on the back.
I don't get it though. I think there's some serious Emperor's New Clothes happening there.
This is only short, but I found myself DNFing after 70 pages. I thought the writing was terrible, overblown and hyperstylised to the point of obfuscation of even the simplest plot points. I've no idea what was happening. Something about an inheritance, but it was all over the place and not going near that plot line in before I gave up.
I hated it and refuse to waste any more keystrokes on it.
